How to get your lost Linux OS after Installing a Windows crap
Requirement: An Ubuntu Linux Live CD / USB. In this case you can make do with anything that has GRUB-INSTALL package with the Live CD. But if you have access to the internet using that Live session then you can just Google things down and dont even need this post, right?
Method:
1. Launch the Live Session.
2. Bring up terminal and type: sudo su
this gives you the privilege of a root in the live session
3. Now type: fdisk -l
Lists up all the partitions present in your system. Look for the partition that has "Linux" in the rightmost column. Note its /dev/sdx name from the left most column.
4. Type : mount /dev/sdx /mnt
Here /dev/sdx is the partition name that you noted. This command mounts that partition in mnt
5. Now type: grub-install --root-directory=/mnt/ /dev/sdx
Here /dev/sdx is the same thing as the previous command. Look at the output, the last line should say that the Installation went successful. VIOLA!!!
Reboot your system from your hard drive (normally) and hopefully the OSs should be there listed beautifully by GRUB. Smile!!!! Dont have to miss your favorite Linux distro.

Im assuming both laptops have working sound system setup.
Then, on the streamer (the machine from which well send the sound) run this command
If you happen to fail to load this module, check for some instruction on the internet. I found some tutorials that may help you to resolve issues. These are two good tutorials
Now, when your modules is up, you should be able to see a loop back device in your "Sound Settings" that is called "Analog Output, Loopback device"
Now open up ~/.asoundrc and add this to that, if the file doesnt exist create it.
Afterwards when you are playing something, just run the command
I researched a lot for this setup. Initially my searches kept telling me that I should use "pulseaudio" to expose sound cards to the network, from which the player machine can pick up its feed and play it back through the system. That setup worked but had a lot of interceptions in the output. The problem might have been of pulseaudio alone. I had almost lost hope but I accidentally stumbled upon these two tutorials that saved me. Thanks a lot to them

Even though this system works flawlessly in quality of output, but it has a huge disadvantage of using up many resources and having a huge sync flaw with videos. But I resolved it by using VLC to adjust it, via the J and K keys.

This is a module you must load in order to get a loop back device in your soundcards list. What this device does is put all your audio data so that any device can pick that from there. In this case my Laptop connected to the speakers.
modprobe snd-aloop index=0 pcm_substreams=1

To be able to load this automatically on each boot just add this to

This basically puts all your sound data in the loopback device. If you want to select manually instead use this.

Save the file. Now, the configuration part is over. You just need to reboot your system. If after rebooting your system does not come up with the loopback device, just load the module again. Now to access the sound on the other device, log into it (or ssh into it from the source machine) and run this command.

}
This basically will, log in from the laptop that is connected to the sound system to my workspace machine and create a stream file that will be fed back to it via ssh. Then that stream file will be played out on that machine. Neat right?
ssh -C streamer_username@lan.ip.of.streamer sox -q -t alsa loop -t wav -b 24 -r 48k - | play -q -
Afterwards when you are playing something, just run the command
And from the list of running sound feeds, redirect anyone (or all, your wish) to the "Loopback Audio" device via the menu on the right.

I am writing this blog keeping in mind that the person who is going to Root their phone is a total kiddo to these activity and has a average knowledge on computers. I Rooted my mobile after going through various forums and videos. I am going to explain to you how to root your Xperia Arc, Unlock Boot-loader and install a custom ROM (Cyanogen mod 9). Please try to follow the instructions correctly. Do not blame me if you brick your phone. I promise you I ll make my instructions as clear as I can.What exactly is Rooting?
Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Androids subsystem. Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user.On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the devices operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.As Android was derived from the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device is similar in practice to accessing administrative permissions on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OS X.Is it Legal?
On July 26 2010, the U.S. Copyright office announced a new exemption making it officially legal to root a device and run unauthorized third-party applications, as well as the ability to unlock any cell phone for use on multiple carriers.On October 28 2012, the U.S Copyright office updated their exemption policies. The rooting of smartphones continues to be legal "where circumvention is accomplished for the sole purpose of enabling interoperability of [lawfully obtained software] applications with computer programs on the telephone handset.". However, the U.S. Copyright office declined to extend this exemption to tablets, arguing that the term "tablets" is broad and ill-defined, and an exemption to this class of devices could have unintended side effects.

Full System Control : After rooting you can access each and every system files, can change boot images, delete any apps etc.Enhanced Performance : You can clear your phone cache which helps you to save phone memory or RAM and make processor more faster.
Backup System : You can backup your current ROM into the SD card or on Computer system. And you can upload it anytime later into your phone.
More Special Apps : There are many amazing apps available for free which are compatible with only rooted android phones. So you can enjoy apps like adfree, overclock, screen capture etc.
WI-FI and Bluetooth Tethering: After rooting, you can use WiFi or Bluetooth tether to share your cellular data connection with your Computer system.
Disadvantages Of Rooting:
Bricking: The bad side of rooting your android device is that it can brick your phone if the rooting app is fake or ineffective or if you didnt follow instructions. Bricking means making your device totally useless.Warranty Void: Rooting any mobile phone may create some risks, the most notable risk is that you will void any warranty that you have on your device. However you may be able to find the stock ROM for your device in which case you can reverse the rooting and make your phone stock again. You may have difficulty finding the stock ROM for your device, it all depends on your device, but it’s something worth finding before you do root.
What is Sonys say on Rooting and Installing Custom ROM:
Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the boot loader. See your phone’s warranty statement for details. Additionally, due to the modified phone software, Sony’s repair network will likely have to replace key components before it can properly test, repair and verify your phone using our repair tools and software. Consequently, if Sony performs a warranty repair, Sony will likely charge you a significant service fee for the additional costs caused by your modification of the software.If you unlock the boot loader and then flash a custom unsigned ROM to your phone, the custom unsigned ROM will not have gone through the thorough tests that we run for each phone and software version that we release. Sony can then no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unsigned custom software being flashed to the phone after the boot loader is unlocked.
Furthermore, the custom unsigned ROM might not work properly on your phone. Certain functions may cease to work, and the performance of the device might not be ideal. You might damage your phone permanently. In the worst case, unlocking the boot loader will cause physical injuries or material damage, for example, due to the phone overheating. Certain pre-loaded content on your phone may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys and the secure user data partition while unlocking the boot loader.
CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system.
