How Some Personal Trainers Gamble With Your Health 5 Ways to Protect Yourself
How Some Personal Trainers Gamble With Your Health 5 Ways to Protect Yourself

Well, that’s where personal trainers come into play.
Personal trainers are there to help you push yourself harder when you feel like giving up.
real weight loss secrets That’s one of the elements about personal training that I love. Being able to help others believe in themselves, when they don’t feel like they can. However, not all personal trainers are on the same wavelength. Like with anything that we do, there are people who are self motivated, hungry, passionate individuals who really care about their crafts and being an instrumental figure in what they love is important to them. Others fall in the middle of what they do. They care about the results they’re able to produce. Not really “go setters” but they still work hard enough to earn a little more than average or just average. And that’s okay. Not everyone is meant to be a hard working “go getter“. There is honestly nothing wrong with that.
But then you have then you have the personal trainers who just flat out suck. They’re horrible in every way, shape and form. They’re the types that make you wonder “How in the world did they even certify you?”
fuuny pt Even though trainers are there to push you and help keep you motivated, there seems to be some confusion on what the main focus is behind personal training in general.
And that’s to keep you safe!
It’s awesome to have a trainer who goes above and beyond what you had hoped for. However, if that person isn’t keeping you safe then there is a big problem that needs to be addressed. If you’re look like you’re in the best shape of your life, but feel like you play tight-end for the New England patriots, that’s not a good look!
If you thought all personal trainers had to be certified, think again.
It’s actually quite the opposite. Having certified or non-certified personal trainers is strictly up to what the gym’s regulations are. If they require their trainers to be certified, that’s great. If they don’t require their trainers to be certified, well that’s great too.(For the gym) And if you’re like me and wondering “how can a gym not require a certified trainer to assist me. There has to be some laws against this sort of thing right?” But there isn’t. You could have a “Muscle and Fitness Magazine” certification and still train someone. It makes no sense at all that a 18 year old who is “enthusiastic” and “posses leadership qualities” could be your trainer.
There are numerous cases where people have gotten seriously injured or worse by their trainers. Have you ever heard of exertional rhabdomyolysis? Exertional rhabdomyolysis is a potentially fatal condition caused when muscle fibers break down into the bloodstream so severely that your kidney clogs and if not treated, you can die.real weight loss secrets How would you like to be “worked out” to the point of death by a “hack job” who doesn’t know squat about what they’re doing?
So what do you to protect yourself to ensure that you stay safe and get the results you want?
EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT THE GYM AND ITS TRAINING STAFF

real weight loss secrets Never be afraid to ask questions. Remember: Gym’s and trainers are plentiful. There are no shortages anywhere. So ask the gym owner or whoever is in charge of hiring the trainers what their qualifications are. If they don’t require certified trainers then kindly thank them, turn around and leave. There is no point wasting time with them any longer. Unless you want to end up in a full body cast and have kidney problems! I know that’s an exaggerated scenario but it does happen. Even though the person who is talking to you won’t tell you this, but they are competing for your business not vice versa. Don’t let them pressure or intimidate you. You’re in control not them.
LEARN ABOUT THE CERTIFICATIONS YOURSELF
Imagine this: you walk into a nice gym that seems to be gaining in popularity. You walk in and you’re greeted by someone at the front desk. You explain to them that you’ve decided to get back and shape and you’re hearing good things about the gym and would like a tour. As you look around you see people sweating and those super hot guys or gals in their bright neon workout gear and think that this place is “fresh” and it’s the place for you. Near the end of the tour the person who is doing the walk around asks do you have any questions for them. You then ask if their trainers are certified or not. The person who is doing the walk around says, of course. They are all certified through the “National Big Bigger ton Sports Group of America” based out of Toledo, Ohio.
Again this is another exaggerated scenario, but how would you know if they were telling you the truth?
There is no way of knowing unless you check on the certification yourself. If you’re interested in the gym and it seems like it really fits your personality and you feel the trainers can give you results, great! However make sure that whatever certification is given is an legit licensed certification. There are some certs that you can pay for and don’t require any knowledge or test. So if the gym tells you their trainers are certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, research that.
So what are some things to look out for in the certification?
If the certification is national recognized as a top level certification- There are a lot of certs out there, but not all are the same. You can target what type of training you want to do. So make sure the cert given to you is one that focuses on weight loss, building muscle, muscle functionality and overall cardiovascular activities. You want your trainer to be able to “train you like an athlete” and not be one-dimensional. If they can train you like an athlete, they can make you feel like a superstar.
If it requires other certifications- Some certs require you have a license to know ‘CPR” or if you have a college degree and other things in order for you to complete the course. If your trainer knows how to save a life that’s a big plus. Should you ever need assistance, it’s a good feeling knowing your in good hands.
ASK WHAT THE TRAINER WHAT TYPE OF SPECIALIZE IN
If you ask this question and the trainer looks dumb-founded or begins to stutter then choose a different trainer. Every trainer has something that they excel in. Whether it’s building muscle, weight loss or training athletes for overall functionality, all good trainers know what they excel at or prefer. So if you get a trainer who has more of a “meat head” mentality, then how will that help if you want to lose weight? Your needs and their style don’t match up. You could end up wasting a lot of time and money on the wrong trainer. Make sure they really match up with your needs and that you’re comfortable around them. The more comfortable we are, the better the results we produce!

ASK ABOUT THE TRAINERS TRACK RECORD
personal trainer funny First impressions are really important, especially nowadays. But let’s be real, we all know this. People aren’t stupid. They’re going to do whatever they can to gain your business, But they also know that a wrong move can really come back to haunt them. By asking about trainers reputations, it will help you in picking a trainer that you should be able to trust and keep you safe.
ASK ABOUT THEIR HABITS
Are they lazy? Do they flirt with clients? What’s some of the feedback that you get from other clients who train with that them? Also make sure they live the lifestyle. I mean I’m not prejudice, but if I see an out of shape trainer I instantly see red flags. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good but com’ on. If they don’t live the lifestyle then it’s going to be really hard to take it seriously. I think this is something we all can agree on.
By doing these 5 things you can separate “gym rats” from the “ Master Splinter’s”. We only have one body; we have to protect it at all times. Failing to do so can cause big problems. It may take more time to research all the information, but would you rather know valuable information about a trainer and succeed. Or know nothing about them and end up in a full body cast?
