The Power of Goal Setting The Missing key

The Power of Goal Setting The Missing key

The day has come. You’re finally motivated and ready to take on your weight loss challenges and get moving! You even go out and buy some new workout gear to match your new found inspiration. After all, we have to look good to feel good right? (I think so. I like to shop, what can I say.)

You go to the nearest gym and sign up for a membership and start working out that day.

You think, wow. This isn’t so bad after all. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. But after a few months of going and not getting results you start to rethink the decision you made. I mean you’re not seeing the results you want.
The Power of Goal Setting-The Missing key
What’s the problem? You think, what are you doing wrong?

The Power of Setting Goals

Goal setting is one of the most powerful tools that we have when it comes to our lives. Goals not only help us, but DEFINE certain things for us as well.

When we set goals they not only give us a direction in where we want to go. But they also give us the confirmation when we have arrived. Without that confirmation, how would we know we’ve arrived at our success point? After all, success is different for every person.

If goal setting isn’t something that you are focusing on, I encourage you to start. Research shows that your chances increase by a big margin if you write your goals down. Make it easy on yourself and write down your goals so you can have a better chance at succeeding!
Goal Setting Tips

Break Your Goals Down Into Smaller goals

Everyone’s goals look different. So going from point A to point Z without any steps in between is almost impossible to do. But if we break our goals down into smaller ones, then it becomes easier. Breaking goals down allows us to track our progress and also have small victories that we can feel proud of.

Set Goals That You Want to Achieve. Not What You Think You Should Achieve.

So many times you hear set goals that are realistic. And while that’s a true statement, it’s more important to set goals that you really WANT! If you want to lose 50 pounds in 6 months, then set a goal to lose 50 pounds in 6 months. I know it may seem unrealistic, others may think or cause you to think you shouldn’t set a goal so unrealistic, and maybe try 30 pounds instead. The only problem is goals are unrealistic. Goals are a desired outcome of something that hasn’t happened yet. Isn’t that unrealistic in itself? By setting goals you really want, it will be easier to visualize and really go after them with everything you’ve got because you want it that much. Which bring me to the second tip.

Be As Specific As You Can Be About Your Goals

Our brain works in a very funny way. It works in pictures. So if you have an image of yourself that is a “fat and low confidence” type of real weight loss secretsperson, then that’s what you will be. Whether we like it or not, we can never get past the image we have of ourselves. That is why about 70% of people go broke after they win the lottery. The image they have in their mind is still that broke person trying to win 100 million dollars, Not being a successful person who knows what to do with money.

By giving your mind a clear specific picture of what your success will look like, it will be easier to achieve. So be specific as possible. And then you can take of the last tip!

Focus On the End Result of Your Goal

By putting your focus on the end result of your goals, you are more likely to stay motivated to fight the good fight when things get tough! Let’s face it. Staying motivated is the hardest part about fitness.

Painting a clear vivid picture in your mind will not help motivate, but you will be so attracted to you goal that you’ll be PULLED towards your goals.

TAKE ACTION!

If we never take any action on our goals, then how are supposed to achieve them. Naturally this is the most important step. I wanted to make sure that it was Clearly understood. There are some people who like to write goals and not take action. Without it, we go nowhere!!

So setting goals you WANT to achieve, being specific and clear about what you want, focusing on the end result and acting on those goals will greatly assist you in achieving any goal you set.

As long as you know what you want, you can achieve it!
