Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya ?

You jumped in.. Now lets start ROOTING..!!!

~To download all files as torrent please click on the following links:-
1. Click - To download Xperia Arc Rooting Kit
2. Click - To download Cyanogen-mod 9.1.0 (Stable Version)

-> Some things to be made sure taken care of before rooting :-

1. Make sure your battery is full.

2. Backup your pictures, videos, contacts and apps.

3. After backing up please Factory Reset your phone
     Setting> Backup & Reset> Factory Reset

4. Go to settings > Security > Mark  "Unknown sources".

5. Go to Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging.

6. Go to Settings > Xperia > connectivity > USB connection mode > select MSC mode.

7. Remember to do steps 4,5 After flashing the first kernel.

8. Make sure P.C Companion and all other SONY apps are quit.

-> Lets Begin : -

1. Install Flashtool 0.9.8.0 package. Install it in the default location. (C:Flashtool)

       -Click - To download Flashtool

Screenshot of Flashtool 0.9.8
2. Once you have completed installing Flash tool then Download the following two Kernel.
       -Ready to Root Kernel.
       -Final Flash Kernel.

3. After downloading these two kernels, copy these and paste it in  "C:Flashtoolfirmwares"

4. Now we have prepared ourselves to flash. So lets move on to installing drivers and prepare for fastboot. By default the drivers will be installed in your system by PC Companion but that is not enough. So please follow the following instruction on installing Android SDK  and adding USB and Fast-boot driver in it.

-Click - To Download and Install Android SDK

5. After installing (in the default location) launch the Android SDK Manager by double-clicking SDK Manager.exe.
This is how Android SDK it will look. See i have ticked on Google USB driver package.
-Expand Extras.
-Check Google USB Driver package and click Install.
-Proceed to install the package. Thats it.. Once Installation completes you have installed most of the required drivers.

6. Now that we have installed USB drivers download a small code file named "android_winusb"
-Click - To download Code file

7. After you download that file, copy it and paste it in the folder "C:Program FilesAndroidandroid-sdkextrasgoogleusb_driver". Accept to replace the old android_winusb.inf-file with the new file. Good. Now we have prepared for fast-boot and installed all necessary drivers.

Lets face the Real Deal..!!!

Out of the textbook =)
Dont laugh at what am going to say..  Restart your computer and phone(i think phone is as clean as it first came in to your hand).. Once your system is up connect your phone to PC via USB.. If some drivers are being updated or installed let it do it.. It ll take some time.. Once that completes.. Now switch off your Phone.. Connect to your phone to PC again via USB but this time hold down the "back" button (the button on left) while plugging in.. a green light LED glows near usb..  Even this time it may or may-not install drivers.. dont worry if its not installing.. if its installing let it finish.. Once its over disconnect your phone from PC.. It ll be still in switched off condition if it accidently got switched on switch it off again.. Now connect your phone to ur PC via USB(we are connecting for the third time) but this time we ll hold down the "menu" button (the button on right).. a blue LED glows near usb.. Drivers of the "S1 Boot" will be installed.. Wait till it finishes.. Cool.. Now we are done with the driver drama.. Let get back on track ;-)

Back into the textbook =)
We are going to ROOT..
Note:- Do not connect your Phone to PC now.
1. Open the Program FlashTool.exe run as administrator.

2. Click on the  Flash Button

3.Select the Flashmode and click OK.

4. Now a Firmware selection window would appear, Select the "Ready to Root" firmware and chose the file "Kernel" and check on the options Wipe and No final verification.

5. After clicking on OK within a few seconds a window (shown below) will appear.. It will be having instructions on what has to be done. Follow it.

6. Once you have connected as asked by the software you ll see that the firmware/kernel is being flashed. After the flashing gets over your phone will start up. It will take some time for your phone to start up so please be patient (Disconnect from PC). As the phone is started up now u will start receiving lots of errors. Dont worry that is just because we downgraded the kernel in order to root. Now ignoring the errors do the  following steps:-

           -  Go to settings > Security > Mark  "Unknown sources".
           - Go to Settings > Developer options > Mark USB debugging.

7. Now download the Rooting software by DooMLoRD - The Great =)

-Click - To download DooMloRD Sotware

8. Now extract the files (a folder named "files" and a bat file named "runme.bat")  in "C:" . After doing this double click (run) the "runme.bat" file. It would open in cmd.exe.  Read the instructions written carefully. We have done the steps (1,2,3) that doomlord has asked us to do. We can skip step 4. Please make sure step 6 is also done (as I told earlier close PC Companion / Flashtool or any sony app). Now connect the phone.

9. Pray to god and hit ENTER. If everything has been followed correctly till now then Rooting must have started, during this time the phone restarts (three times). Let it finish all the restarting and become stable. In the command window when the script finishes it will say "ALL DONE". Now the system is ROOTED. But u will still keep on receiving the errors. Dont worry we will fix it in the next step. (Disconnect the phone)

10. Close the command window and open the Flashtool.exe (the program we used first). Just like we did before Click the Flash button. Select the Flashmode click OK. Now select the other Firmware (4.1.B.0.587) and select the option "No Final Verification" and hit OK.

11. Again the instructions window will emerge. Switch off your phone and connect it to the PC holding back button. (Just like we did the first time) Now wait for the software to flash the stable kernel into your phone.
Once the flashing is over disconnect the phone and wait for it to start (switch it on). Close the flashtool.

12. Now your phone is ROOTED and stable. You must have observed that the errors no longer come. And to confirm its rooted hit the menu button and you will find a app called superuser. That means our Rooting is Over successfully   :-)

Congratulations =)

Next we are going to Unblock the Bootloader and Install a Custom ROM.
Are you ready to do it then what you waiting for "Jump In"
